1. Our Fabrics
Every Éléganza piece is cut from fine, structured fabrics — including jet black silk, crinkle chiffon, and organza — chosen for their drape and finish. Many silhouettes also feature hand embellishment, embroidery, or stonework. These are luxury materials that reward gentle handling, so please follow the guidance below to keep your piece looking its best for years.
2. Cleaning — Dry Clean Only
All Éléganza garments are dry clean only. Do not machine wash, hand wash, soak, or tumble dry any piece — water, agitation, and household detergents can damage silk, chiffon, and organza fibers, and can loosen embellishments or embroidery.
- Take your piece to a reputable dry cleaner and point out any beadwork, embroidery, or stonework before they begin.
- Clean promptly after wear if the piece was exposed to perfume, makeup, or perspiration — these can set into delicate fabric over time.
- Avoid spot-cleaning with water or household stain removers at home, as this can leave rings or watermarks on silk and organza.
3. Ironing & Steaming
- Use low-heat steam only. Hold the steamer a few inches away from the fabric and never let it rest directly on embellished areas.
- Do not iron directly on any Éléganza piece. Direct heat can scorch silk and organza, melt trims, or damage stonework and embroidery threads.
- If light creasing needs extra attention, place a clean cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric and use the lowest heat setting briefly — steaming is still the safer first choice.
4. Storage
- Hang each piece on a padded or wide-shoulder hanger inside a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust, light, and creasing.
- Store away from direct sunlight and humidity, which can fade silk and weaken delicate fibers over time.
- Allow space between garments in your wardrobe so embellished pieces don't snag or press against one another.
- For long-term storage, avoid plastic dry-cleaner bags — use a fabric garment bag that lets the material breathe.
5. Embellished & Embroidered Pieces
Pieces with hand embroidery, beadwork, or stone embellishment need a little extra care to keep every detail intact.
- Always mention embellishment to your dry cleaner in advance so they can handle it appropriately.
- Avoid rubbing, twisting, or pulling at embellished areas when wearing or storing the piece.
- Keep perfume, hairspray, and jewelry away from direct contact with beadwork and embroidery to prevent snagging or discoloration.
- If a stone or bead comes loose, avoid pulling any loose threads — contact us and we're happy to advise on repair.
